The respected Kim Jong Un, General Secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea and President of the State Affairs of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, received a message of greetings from Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and President of the People’s Republic of China, on September 9.

The message said:

Over the 73 years since the foundation of the DPRK, the WPK has made strenuous efforts to unite and lead the Korean people and thus achieved great successes in accomplishing the cause of socialism. I am sincerely rejoiced over it.

Now the Korean people are directing all efforts to thoroughly implementing the decisions adopted at the Eighth Congress of the WPK and promoting the socio-economic development. I believe that the Korean people will be united under the firm leadership of the Central Committee of the WPK headed by General Secretary Kim Jong Un and exert themselves to build a more wonderful country.

The traditional China-DPRK friendship, which gets firmer with the lapse of time, is a common precious wealth of both sides. I am willing to develop the friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries for a long time and in a stable way and put them on a new stage constantly together with General Secretary Kim Jong Un to provide the two countries and two peoples with better well-being.

I wish the DPRK prosperity and its people happiness and good health, the message noted.
