The mausoleum of King Kongmin, 31st monarch of Koryo, stands on Muson Hill in Haeson-ri, Kaesong. Composed of 2 tombs beside one another, one for the king and the other for his queen, they were built during 1365-1372. It was registered as a World Cultural Heritage Site in 2013. Its beautiful terraces, statues, tombs, and paintings showcases both the scientific and technical achievements as well as the high standards of architectural and formative art during the Koryo dynasty. It is regarded as an architectural masterpiece of old Korean stonework.
