Chongsokjong is a scenic coastal spot on the East Sea of Korea with many peculiar rock formations and columns. Looking as though pieces of Mt. Kumgang leapt into the sea, the pillars present exquisite views, and those bundled together resemble sections of a naturally-formed wall. This impressive spot was formed by basalt rocks being long weathered by waves, wind, and rain. The standing pillars are considered the most beautiful and unique, with their nighttime view in moonlight said to be especially picturesque.
