Pyongyangites Greet New Year

Pyongyangites in the DPRK significantly greeted the New Year Juche 110 (2021).

They are very excited after receiving a letter Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un sent to all the people on the New Year.

Kim Pok Sun, an old resident in Central District of Pyongyang, told KCNA that she and all her family could hardly repress their deep gratitude at the Supreme Leader’s kind letter. The phrase in the letter that he would always remain faithful to the great people touches our hearts, she added.

Kim Hyon Il, a teacher of Kim Il Sung University, said that they could feel again the Supreme Leader’s world of great love for the people from his letter. He expressed his resolve to strive for the advance and development of the country this year, too, to carry out the new tasks to be set forth at the forthcoming 8th Congress of the Workers’ Party of Korea.

From early morning of the New Year, an endless stream of citizens and servicepersons carrying floral baskets and bouquets had visited the statues of President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il on Mansu Hill and the plaza of the Kumsusan Palace of the Sun.

Seen in streets of the capital city of the DPRK were national flags and red banners and such letters as “Happy New Year Juche 110 (2021)”.

Peculiar ornaments were installed and colorful electric light decorations, beautiful flowers, colored buntings and balloons were displayed at every place of the city including monumental edifices, main sites and public service establishments to add festive mood.
