In Hoechang County of South Phyongan Province trees are planted on the scientific calculation of the characteristics of specific areas. The county has created mixed forests with trees resistant to harmful insects on the ridges of mountains and forests of fruit-bearing trees in the intermediary areas.
Many trees of good species have been planted on a large area fully observing the principle of planting right tree on right soil in the cities and counties of South Phyongan and North Hwanghae Provinces.
The provinces, cities and counties across the country are perseveringly pushing ahead with forest creation to protect well the villages and croplands from natural disasters and add beauty to the landscapes while carrying out in substantial way the undertakings for creating mixed forests and others.
The work to protect forests is also conducted to meet the scientific and technical requirements.
