Talented Children Are Growing Up

A lot of little talents and meritocrats are found in the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea. It is one of the big prides of the country.

Recently, a wonder girl in literature has been produced in Mangyongdae District of Pyongyang City, to the pleasure of the people. She is Kim Su Ryo who entered a primary school some time ago after finishing her course at Phalgol Kindergarten No. 1 in Mangyongdae District.

She made a story taking an illustrated book as a plot at the age of three. When she was five, she acquired the first-year literary curriculum of the primary school.

She was just a beginner in literature, but she wrote tens of poems of diverse themes.

Experts comment that her works are unique in finding and rich in expression.

It was the head of the kindergarten Ho Yon Sim and teacher Ri Song Hui that exerted themselves to actively develop her unusual talents. They found out her unusually distinguished memory, imagination and faculties of expression and analysis and directed great efforts to her early education.

O Ui Ryong at the Ryomyong Kindergarten in Taesong District is good at paduk (go), drawing the attention of people.

An autumn Pyongyang city children’s go game was held in the capital city in October last year.

O Ui Ryong played every game with composure and finally won the prize of technique for his unique trick in judging the situation.

His Mother Ri Nam Sun says:

“When he was two, he used to play the picture puzzle and knew to bring down his toy from a high place by standing on a support.

At the age of three, he learned the Korean alphabets, read a newspaper loudly and did three-figure sums without difficulty.”

Realizing his aptitude, teacher Kim Su Ryon found out a method to develop his intelligence, not affecting his growth.

A greater number of talented children will grow up in the future thanks to the wonderful preschool education system of the country and the competent kindergarten teachers.
