Efforts Concentrated on Establishing United Command System

As the rainy season has set in, the State Emergency Disaster Committee of the DPRK is perfecting the unified command system for preventing damage by flood, heavy rain and storm and for reliably protecting the people’s life and property in case of disaster.

It is tightening up control over disaster prevention work based on the experiences and lessons gained last year in the whole-Party, nationwide and all-people campaign to prevent damage by Typhoon 13.

Now that disaster prevention offices were set up in the provincial, city and county people’s committees, it has formulated and issued several directives concerning working rules of the relevant persons and their response to crisis and taking thoroughgoing measures while regularly receiving reports from the non-standing anti-calamity measure committees at all levels on their work.
