Wrestler Pak Yong Mi from the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea won a gold medal in the match.
She finished all the matches ranging from preliminaries to finals ahead of time limited, drawing attention of the experts and amateurs. At the finals she beat a Japanese rival 12 to 1, who was once a world champion.
Those concerned of the World Wrestling Federation and the Asian Wrestling Federation sincerely congratulated Pak Yong Mi on her successful matches and estimated that the wrestling technique of Korea has a rich potential.
Pak was born as the second daughter of a servicemen’s family.
In childhood her dream was to become a sportswoman honouring the country. So at the age of 14, she began to learn wrestling at the Pyongyang Sports Team.
Soon she started to distinguish herself in national games and held the Asian championship in 2013, 2018, and 2019.
Pak Yong Mi was selected as one of the 10 best players of the DPRK in 2019.
