Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un’s Warm Care for Scientists and Technicians

There is a Korean saying that a person who did an admirable thing should be seated on a golden cushion.

In the DPRK, scientists and technicians are leading a happy life under the care of the Workers’ Party of Korea.

Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un has shown loving care for the scientists and technicians, regarding them as precious treasures of the country.

In Juche 102 (2013), he initiated the construction of apartment houses for scientists and settled all the problems arising in the construction ranging from design to supply of building equipment and materials. Visiting the construction site on several occasions, he said that scientists should live in houses like a golden cushion. Thanks to such warm love, Unha Scientists Street came into being.

The Supreme Leader also set the picturesque shore of the Lake Yonphung as the site of a holiday camp for scientists and technicians and came to the lake to decide the site after visiting the State Academy of Sciences in January 2014.

Touring the holiday camp under construction several times, he guided its construction to be completed at the highest level. In October that year, he went round the completed Yonphung Scientists Holiday Camp, saying that it is a golden cushion for scientists and technicians.

Meanwhile, hundreds of houses for educators of Kim Il Sung University and Kim Chaek University of Technology and the Wisong Scientists Residential District, Mirae Scientists Street and Ryomyong Street were built for scientists and technicians under his noble intention.
