8

It is a policy of the Workers’ Party of Korea to make sports mass-based and a part of everyday life.

Making sports mass-based and a part of everyday life means that all people participate in the sports activities and do regular exercises without letup to constantly build up their physical strength.

It is an intention of the WPK to conduct positive mass sports activities to create a sound and optimistic atmosphere in the society and make the people actively turn out in the building of a powerful socialist country, full of revolutionary spirit and optimism.

The WPK increases social interest in the sports and induces the people throughout the country to conduct positive sports activities.

It ensures that the mass sports activities are conducted in all parts of the country such as schools, institutions, enterprises, cooperative farms and villages.

It also runs the Day of Sports on a regular basis, introduces those units exemplary in the sports activities and generalizes their experiences, and pays deep attention to supplying facilities and equipment needed for the mass sports activities.

The mass sports facilities and sports parks including the Masikryong Ski Resort, the People’s Open-Air Ice Rink and the Meari Shooting Gallery were built across the country under the wise guidance of the Party.

Sports games are actively played in the volleyball, basketball and tennis courts built in many places.

Making sports mass-based and a part of everyday life, the Korean people further consolidate the unity of the collective and establish the habit of helping and leading each other forward.

It clearly proves the validity and vitality of the policy of the WPK on making sports mass-based and a part of everyday life.
