Schoolchildren from across the country left Pyongyang to begin their march along the course of the 250-mile journey for national liberation, that was covered by President Kim Il Sung, on the occasions of the 95th anniversary of his start of the journey and the 45th anniversary of the organization of the march along the course by Chairman Kim Jong Il.
They are to tour the course paved by Kim Il Sung, from Mangyongdae, Kaechon, Hyangsan and Kanggye to Phophyong.
A starting ceremony took place before the statues of President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il at Mangyongdae Revolutionary School on Wednesday.
Present there were Choe Hwi, vice-chairman of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea (WPK), officials concerned, officials of the youth league, and the participants in the journey.
A report was made which was followed by speeches.
The participants started the journey, fluttering a flag.
They were seen off by schoolchildren and working people in the streets of Pyongyang.
