WPK Birthday Celebrated in DPRK

The Democratic People’s Republic of Korea significantly celebrated the 73rd anniversary of the Workers’ Party of Korea.

Many citizens visited the plaza of the Kumsusan Palace of the Sun, the sacred temple of Juche where President Kim Il Sungand Chairman Kim Jong Il lie in state, and made a bow before the portraits of the smiling great leaders.

Servicepersons, working people and schoolchildren paid floral tribute to the statues of the great leaders on Mansu Hill and in all other parts of the country and their smiling portraits.

There were celebration performances in the capital and local areas.

Drama “The Red Snow Is Falling” was given at the National Theatre in Pyongyang.

Members of art troupes of North Hamgyong, Jagang and Ryanggang Provinces gave celebration performances.

A performance “The people pay glory to our Party” was given by art circle members of provincial institutions and industrial establishments at the South Hwanghae Provincial Art Theatre.

In South Phyongan Province there was a performance of children from schools for orphans.

Sports games took place in Pyongyang on the anniversary.

There were a men’s football match between the Sonbong Team and the Amnokgang Team at the Kim Il Sung Stadium and a men’s team sparring match between the Taekwon-Do teams from South Phyongan and North Hwanghae Provinces at the Taekwon-Do Hall.
